Saada Hospital has successfully performed a complex bladder cancer surgery on a 91-year-old patient, demonstrating that advanced age is not a barrier to receiving specialized surgical care when supported by expert clinical assessment and individualized treatment.
The patient presented with urinary symptoms and pain and underwent a comprehensive evaluation by the hospital’s Urology Department. Following detailed diagnostic investigations, Dr. Hussein, Consultant Urologist, diagnosed a malignant bladder tumor requiring prompt surgical intervention.
After careful pre-operative assessment and personalized treatment planning, the patient underwent successful surgery to completely remove the bladder tumor. Despite the patient’s advanced age, the procedure was performed safely, and he made an excellent recovery. He has since returned to his normal daily activities and is in very good health.
Bladder cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting the urinary system and accounts for approximately 3–5% of all cancers worldwide.
